Yeah, I know…Book Expo America was 3 weeks ago. But I am now making a commitment to my blog, a promise to add new content each week- hopefully several times a week! Yes, I am boarding a cruise ship named, “Write more blog posts, would ya?!!” Wait a minute… change the analogy, I get sea sick on cruise ships. I’m buckling up in a 700-horsepower Sprint Cup race car en route to the finish line of the “Blog Post 500”! Strike that; I sense more queasiness in turn 3. How about this, as a former cub scout, I promise to do my best to make posts to my blog on a consistent basis. Period. And speaking of vehicles, check out this Diary of a Wimpy Kid promotional van I spotted at Book Expo America! Wow, an entire van custom painted to promote the upcoming Jeff Kinney title, complete with a flat screen TV playing the book trailer on the side panel. I was in NY to attend uPublishU, a self publishing conference that was a part of Book Expo America, a huge trade show that is everything publishing. All of the large pub houses were there with their fancy booths and author signings. Too much to write about in one post…but hey- I’ll be posting again real soon, right? I’ll need material to write about won’t I? More to come from uPublishU and BEA; but one last thought. Seeing this Wimpy Kid PR vehicle made me want to visit one of the NASCAR race team garages here in Charlotte, and have them get started on a hot new vehicle…The Cheeseball 3000, for Hamster Sam to ride into a future Book Expo America!
